And After the Final Inning There was This...
Design - It is extremely uncommon to come across vintage athletic jackets in this styling. Here we have a wonderfully preserved 1951 baseball jacket with a car coat styling is vibrant cherry red wool. It features a point collar, ribbed, striped blue and red cuffs, two slash front pockets trimmed in white leather with like colored snap buttons up the front. The best feature is the large round patch. The patch has a navy blue background and twelve stars on the outer edge with a baseball centers that says ALL STARS in the center with the team name "The Bee - KMJ" (a former central California news paper and radio station) and at the bottom are crossed baseball bats and the year '51. A fantastic piece with built-in provenance.
Material - Cherry red wool, blue felt patch, white leather trim, red enameled snap buttons
Maker - The only Markings are "General Athletic Product" on the snap buttons.
