She Dreems of Sapphires and Shells...

Design - Here we have an absolutely stunning 1930s work of art in a vibrant royal blue silk crepe in both opaque and sheer. This gorgeous gown features Panels of silk crepe from the bust line down that gives a fit much like that of the bias cut gowns of the era with small extending panels of crepe cluster at the center back.

The top of the gown is perhaps where the designer let their imagination run wild over the female form with its sheer silk crepe beginning on the bust up to shoulders and then traveling in a batwing style to the sleeves until they puff and become fitted at the upper for arm, then traveling down to the wrist, fitted with snaps. A built-in slip trimmed in a crème lace from the bust up peeks through the sheer silk.

I've saved the best design detail for the last...thousands of small, glimmering, square white shell beads come together to create a shimmering band that trims the neck and dips down low on the bust line, criss-crossing the front and swimming around to the back. A selection of the beads were allowed to roam free across the sheer silk crepe section appearing like stars in a blue midnight. Perhaps their most lovely use is at the end of the sleeves where they come to a point, beyond the wrist and over the top of the hand. So exquisite!

Material -silk crepe and sheer silk crepe, shell beads.

Maker - There is no makers mark but this dress was exceptionally well designed and created.

Dreem Co. takes an extensive amount of time professionally cleaning and restoring our vintage items so they come to you ready for wear. That being said all of our items are authentically and wonderfully vintage. What this means is that you can expect any vintage/antique clothing to have some wear over time. I do my best to restore/note whatever I can. Even the most excellent grade of vintage is likely to have a minor issue or two. There may be instances where a minor issue, such as a loose seam, pinhole or small stain will not be caught by me no matter how hard I try. Just keep in mind that this is the nature of our rare, gorgeous, unique vintage world and this is why all items are sold AS IS.

Honesty & Quality are the most important goals of Dreem Co. I want you to receive a piece of vintage fashion that will make you look good and feel good too. So please feel free to send a flock of questions my way until you are satisfied that a vintage piece is a good match for you. In return you will receive a prompt and detailed answer. For example, I love to help with sizing! I will do everything I can to help you make sure that a vintage shoe, hat or piece of clothing will be the right fit. If we work together the idea of returning an item would become obsolete.

Additional
