A 1930s Dreem ...

Design - Here we have a wonderful example of the creativity of early wartime millinery. This hat is made from a rich black felt and shaped brim and wire piece on the right hand side with curved rows of like colored top stitching, which then meets the bow shaped left half of the hat. Both side are connected to the two tulip petal split felt back halves that are joined at the back by a link of black elastic. It is the back pieces that are form fitted to the head while the two front pieces are styled to stand up and curve about. And the literal cherry on the top of this unique hat is the large brass hat pin with a red bakelite top that also holds a round silver dot.
