For the Feedsack Princess.

Design - Beautiful early 1940s feedsack house dress. It comes to you in a magenta floral print with eyelet lace trimming the bodice and sleeves. A V-shaped ruffle flares out over the shoulders and down the front of the bodice with capped sleeves underneath. The dress has a hidden zipper up the front and ties around the back. Three hook and eye closures go up the front with three dainty black velvet bows adorning the front. The skirt is long and just full of the wonderful novelty print material. A truly lovely piece.

Material - Feedsack material in sky blue and white, with pure white flour sack.

Maker - As with the majority of truly original feedsack dresses there is no makers mark. The women of the era were, by necessity, expert seamstresses and designers often creating patterns from their imaginations using old news paper. This maker, most likely, awaiting the arrival and emptying of new feedsacks before she washed them and put them together to create a new garment.
