1920s black silk floral novelty print chiffon & lace drop waist gown, Size Sm

Floral Novelty Print Dreem...

Design - Here we have a unique gown from the 1920s in a sheer floral, novelty print silk chiffon and black lace. The floral novelty print is sheer with a black under slip built-in that is solid everywhere until it makes a dramatic low cut V in the front and back making everything else sheer through the print. The sleeves are flutter sleeves that are only attached at the shoulder and are also sheer novelty print silk finished in cresented lace, which easily dance and flutter with movement, while exposing the upper arm. The waist is a drop waist that stops below the hips and is then gathered a bit and then is finished with the crecented black lace to complete the rest of the gown to the floor. Lots of movement at the sleeves and bottom portion of the gown. There is a small gathering at the V neck in front. It opens and closes with side snaps. A truly delightful piece full of whimsy and drama.

Material - black lace, novelty print silk chiffon in a black background with small dots and large floral themes throughout in pinks, limes, chartruese oranges and yellows with a periwinkle blue/grey.

Maker - There is no makers mark but this dress was exceptionally well designed and created.
