Ready For The Open Skies...
Design - This is a gorgeous 1940s G1 style flight or bomber jacket most likely from Britain. It features the softest and warmest capeskin leather lining, a rich whiskey patinaed capeskin with two square patch pockets with caramel corozo buttons, a faux mouton collar, and a 1940s bell shaped lightning zip up the front with a knitted ribbing at the waist and cuffs. A soft and supple flight jacket from WWII that will always be absolutely soaring with style.
Material - capeskin, zipper, corozo buttons, cotton knit
Maker - No makers mark, only a tag inside that says GH 38
*Please double all measurements except arms and length and shoulder
Arm pit to arm pit - 20"
Shoulders - 15"
Length - 21"
Condition - The jacket is really great condition considering its age, the leather is soft and supple, there is a repair to the right arm and the ribbing on the bottom is in good shape, but the sleeves have some runs in it, but because of the style of ribbing it is it is hard to tell, there are a few scrapes or marks to the leather. I am being really nitpicky with the condition of this jacket for the sake of the collector but it is really overall a jacket in great wearable shape. It comes to you in clean, ready-to-wear vintage condition.
A fantastic piece of vintage military flight wear to add to your vintage wardrobe.
