Navy Blue Silk in the Fog

Design -Here we have a gorgeous 1940s blouse made from what was original an early 1940s navy blue, silk velvet dress. It strongly features ruching throughout, which was incredibly popular during the 1930s and 1940s. It is ruched (tightly gathered) up the front and in half suns along the rib cage of the wearer, along the neckline and up the middle of the puffed and gathered sleeves. It has a collarless V neck and back and is zipped up the back with a circa 1930s brass zipper. It has been altered at some point as a blouse that is higher in the front and then angles to the back. Though altered it is still a gorgeous piece that can be worn a myriad of ways and will be sure to elevate any outfit it inspires.
