Beaded Black Wind on the Mannequin of the Field...
Design - Here we have an exceptional gown from the early 1920s, specifically 1922 - 1924. It comes to you in a black silk with beading throughout. The design is in the long caftan or chemise styling of the period with beaded silk panels below the waist in the front and back, giving elegant movement to the boxy, drapey cut of the gown. It has a built-in underdress. At its drop waist are three dimensional floral arrangements in gold, brass, cornflower and pink. The beadwork has some structural Art Deco patterning along with some circular, whirling patterning going on, too. It has a slit up each side. A gorgeous example of teens fashion bleeding and morphing into twenties fashion.
Material - black silk, black beads, chiffon florals
Maker - There is no makers mark but this dress was exceptionally well designed and created.
*Please double all measurements except length
*I wanted to note that my model is 32x 26x 34 for perspective on size and it was not pinned on her.
*Please note there are no side closures, so be sure to leave room to slip it in over head. This is the reason for the accurate sizing.
SM - MED
Waist - 34"
Length - 44"
Condition - This dress is in Mid grade good condition for its age and has a repair under the right arm and some small pinholes. The beadwork is intact. It comes to you in clean ready-to-wear condition.
